She packed my bags last night pre flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
She packed my bags last night pre flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long
time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
And I think it's gonna be a long long
time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Mars ain't the kind of place to raise
your kids
In fact it's cold as Hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you didn't
And all this science, I don't understand
It's just my job, five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man
In fact it's cold as Hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you didn't
And all this science, I don't understand
It's just my job, five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man
And I think it's gonna be a long long

melancolías y neurosis
I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one man band
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me
Everyday's an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see
Reminds me that I long to be
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me
Tonight I'll sing my songs again
I'll play the game and pretend
But all my words come back to me
In shades of mediocrity
Like emptyness in harmony
I need someone to comfort me
Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me
Silently for me
Silently for me
A winter's day, in a deep and dark
December
I am alone, gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow
I am a rock, I am an island
I am alone, gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow
I am a rock, I am an island
I've built walls, a fortress deep
and mighty that none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship, friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain
I am a rock, I am an island
I have no need of friendship, friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain
I am a rock, I am an island
Don't talk of love well I've heard
the words before
It's sleeping in my memory
And I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock, I am an island
It's sleeping in my memory
And I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock, I am an island
I have my books and my poetry to
protect me
I am shielded in my armor, hiding in my room, safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am a rock, I am an island
I am shielded in my armor, hiding in my room, safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am a rock, I am an island
And a rock can feel no pain
And an island never cries
And an island never cries
Hoy no quiero estar

serios problemas
Tan lejos los recuerdos
de días felices y extraños.
Mis viejas fotos mienten,
tu pelo es más liso y claro.
Un ángel sobrevuela
la tela invisible de araña,
que el tiempo puso en ellas
y no logro recordar...
Por qué esas flores raras
crecen en las aceras para ti;
volveré a cogerlas sabes?...
no me acostumbro a estar sin ti.
Otra vez jugaremos
a guerra en la selva,
gritando como niños,
aullando en la fría niebla.
No logro acostumbrarme
aún a ser adulto.
Sonríes en mis manos y no recuerdo.
Volveré a esperar la noche,
de pie en el oscuro rellano,
que vuelvas despeinada
de los bares cerrados.
Tan lejos los recuerdos,
lejos de ti en la calle,
busco en mis viejas fotos
y no he logrado recordar.
No, no me acostumbro;
antes del invierno estaré ahí.
Hay serios problemas sabes?...
no me acostumbro a estar sin ti.
Otra vez jugaremos

"Johnson's song concerns a situation he faced many times: nightfall with no place to sleep. Since humans appeared on Earth, the shroud of night has yet to fall without touching a man or woman in the same plight."
A child said What
is the grass? fetching
it to me with full hands;
How could I answer the child? I do not know
what it is any more than he.
I guess it must be the flag of my
disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven.
Or I guess it is the handkerchief of the
Lord,
A scented gift and remembrancer designedly
dropt,
Bearing the owner’s name someway in the
corners, that we may see and remark, and say Whose?
Or I guess the grass is itself a child, the
produced babe of the vegetation.
Or I guess it is a uniform hieroglyphic,
And it means, Sprouting alike in broad
zones and narrow zones,
Growing among black folks as among white,
Kanuck, Tuckahoe, Congressman, Cuff, I give
them the same, I receive them the same.
And now it seems to me the beautiful uncut
hair of graves.
Tenderly will I use you curling grass,
It may be you transpire from the breasts of
young men,
It may be if I had known them I would have
loved them,
It may be you are from old people, or from
offspring taken soon out of their mothers’ laps,
And here you are the mothers’ laps.
This grass is very dark to be from the
white heads of old mothers,
Darker than the colorless beards of old
men,
Dark to come from under the faint red roofs
of mouths.
O I perceive after all so many uttering
tongues,
And I perceive they do not come from the
roofs of mouths for nothing.
I wish I could translate the hints about
the dead young men and women,
And the hints about old men and mothers,
and the offspring taken soon out of their laps.
What do you think has become of the young
and old men?
And what do you think has become of the
women and children?
They are alive and well somewhere,
The smallest sprout shows there is really
no death,
And if ever there was it led forward life,
and does not wait at the end to arrest it,
And ceas’d the moment life appear’d.
All goes onward and outward, nothing
collapses,
And to die is different from what any one
supposed, and luckier.
Walt Whitman,
1855
Un niño me
preguntó: ¿Qué es la hierba?, trayéndola
a manos llenas,

When I was a young man courting the girls
I played me a waiting game
If a maid refused me with tossing curls
I'd let the old Earth take a couple of whirls
While I plied her with tears in place of pearls
And as time came around she came my way
As time came around, she came.
But it's a long, long while from May to Decemeber
And the days grow short when you reach September
And the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And I haven't got time for the waiting game
And the wine dwindles down to a precious brew
September, November - and these few vintage years
I'd share with you. These vintage years I'd share with you.
But it's a long, long while from May to December
And the days grow short when you reach September
And I have lost one tooth and I walk a little lame
And I haven't got time for the waiting game
And the days turn to gold as they grow few
September, November,
And these few golden days I'd spend with you
These golden days I'd spend with you.
When you meet with the young men early in Spring
They court you in song and rhyme
They woo you with words and clover ring
But if you could examine the goods they bring
They have little to offer but the songs they sing
And a plentiful waste of time of day
A plentiful waste of time
But it's a long, long while from May to December
Will a clover ring last till you reach September
And I'm not quite equipped for the waiting game
But I have a little money and I have a little fame
And the days dwindle down to a precious few

juicio subjetivo claramente, no llega. Qué difícil aprehender.
Música de Kurt
Weill y letra de Ogden Nash:
Speak low when you speak, love
Our summer day withers away too soon, too soon
Speak low when you speak, love
Our moment is swift, like ships adrift, we're swept apart, too soon
Speak low, darling, speak low
Love is a spark, lost in the dark too soon, too soon
I feel wherever I go that tomorrow is near, tomorrow is here and always too soon
Time is so old and love so brief
Love is pure gold and time a thief
We're late, darling, we're late
The curtain descends, ev'rything ends too soon, too soon
I wait, darling, I wait
Will you speak low to me, speak love to me and soon
Speak low when you speak, love
Our summer day withers away too soon, too soon
Speak low when you speak, love
Our moment is swift, like ships adrift, we're swept apart, too soon
Speak low, darling, speak low
Love is a spark, lost in the dark too soon, too soon
I feel wherever I go that tomorrow is near, tomorrow is here and always too soon
Time is so old and love so brief
Love is pure gold and time a thief
We're late, darling, we're late
The curtain descends, ev'rything ends too soon, too soon
I wait, darling, I wait
Will you speak low to me, speak love to me and soon
para mañana
