seguro azar

Garcilaso.

[...]
Amor, amor, catástrofe.
¡Qué hundimiento del mundo!
Un gran horror a techos
quiebra columnas, tiempos;
los reemplaza por cielos
intemporales. Andas, ando
por entre escombros
de estíos y de inviernos
derrumbados. Se extinguen
las normas y los pesos.

[...]
Lo que eres
me distrae de lo que dices.

Lanzas palabras veloces,
empavesadas de risas,
invitándome
a ir adonde ellas me lleven.
No te atiendo, no las sigo:
estoy mirando
los labios donde nacieron.

Miras de pronto a los lejos.
Clavas la mirada allí,
no sé en qué, y se te dispara
a buscarlo ya tu alma
afilada, de saeta.
Yo no miro adonde miras:
yo te estoy viendo mirar.

Tornada

Perdó, Heleneta, perdó.
No vindrà la conclusió,
i aquest embolic de marrades
no para enlloc. T'ho esperaves?
(...)
I ara potser val més que calli.
No convé que encara m'agafin
temptacions d'insinuar
com hauria anat el relat
encaminat al seu bon terme.
Una cosa, val més no fer-la
que fer-la a mitges. Callo doncs,
i m'estalvio el pitjor tros
Tota farina bla vull moldre.
Si l'enamorar-se d'un home
se m'acut cosa extravagant,
l'extravagància la fan
la majoria de les dones,
gent enraonada: alguna solta
deu trobar-se en el joc estrany.
Bé prou que m'hauria costat,
tanmateix, de presentar amb força
la feblesa de dolça dona.
Sembla doncs que callo a punt,
abans d'entrar en un mal embús.
Ja es pot apagar la cendela
que he mirat de mantenir encesa
per una llarga processó
de versos xafarders, de mots
fets per compondre imatges netes
de les coses que em són objectes
d'afectes o d'aversions.
Què sé jo si aquest monyó
de poema, que t'ofereixo,
fa molta angúnia. Quan penso
en els espessos emparrats
de raïms que són peus i mans
de cera bruta, que s'enfilen
per les parets de les ermites,
em trasbalso, i m'agafa por
que sigui un ex-vot llefiscós
el que et vull donar per poema.
I ja no té remei, Helena.
Ara que el cop es veu fallar,
deixa'm que n'acani l'allarg.
Arribaré, amb els tres que em manquen,
al vers mil tres-cents trenta-quatre.
Me'n queda un per dir-te adéu:
barca nova, tingues bon vent.

Tornada(*)

Perdón, Helenita, perdón.
No llegará la conclusión,
y este enredo de rodeos
no lleva a ninguna parte. ¿Lo esperabas?
(...)
Y ahora mejor me callo.
No vaya a ser que me asalten
tentaciones de insinuar
cómo hubiera ido el relato
encaminado a su buen término.
Una cosa es mejor no hacerla
que dejarla a medias. Callo pues,
y así me ahorro el peor trozo
que me hubiera tocado escribir:
cómo se enamora la heroína.
Cierto que en asuntos de amor
de ningún pan hago mendrugos.
Sólo harina blanda quiero moler.
Si enamorarse de un hombre
se me antoja algo extravagante,
la extravagancia la hacen
la mayoría de las mujeres,
gente sensata: algún sentido
debe de haber en ese juego extraño.
Cuánto me hubiera costado,
sin embargo, presentar con fuerza
la debilidad de dulce mujer.
Parece, pues, que me callo a tiempo
antes de meterme en un lío.
Ya se puede apagar la vela
que he querido tener encendida
durante una larga procesión
de versos chismosos, de palabras
hechas para componer imágenes nítidas
de las cosas que me despiertan
aversiones o afectos.
Qué sé yo si este muñón
de poema que te ofrezco
produce mucha angustia. Cuando pienso
en los tupidos emparrados
de racimos que son pies y manos
de cera sucia, que trepan
por la paredes de las ermitas,
me trastorno y me da miedo
que sea un exvoto viscoso
lo que te quiero dar como poema.
Y ya no tiene remedio, Helena.
Ahora que el golpe es fallido,
déjame que mida los versos.
Llegaré, con los tres que me faltan,
al verso mil trescientos treinta y cuatro.
Para el adiós, me queda uno:
barca nueva, ten buen viento.

No saber inglés
todavía no traducida.

ucronizando

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who that it’s namin’
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’

funeral blues

A ver qué tal.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Mi mediodía, mi noche, mi charla, mi canción;

Las estrellas no son bienvenidas ahora: quitadlas todas;
Empaquetad la Luna y desmantelad el Sol;
Vaciad el océano y barred el bosque.
Pues nada ahora, nada, puede traer ninguna gracia.

Versión de Juan Bay

Una explicación del poema interesante, aquí.

... lo inapresable con la moldura

At any moment he'll be walking through that door
But he won't find me behind it
'cause the feeling is gone and just won't come back any more
I worked so hard to find it

I've been up, down, tryin' to get the feeling again
All around tryin' to get the feeling again
That one that made me shiver
Make my knees start to quiver every time he walks in

I've looked high, low
Everywhere i possibly can
But there's just no tryin' to get the feeling again
It seemed to disappear as fast at it came

I've read every book, looked for every meditation and poem
Just to bring home that old sweet sensation
But it ain't no use to me to try to get the feeling again

When did it leave me
How did i come to miss use such a beautiful bonnet

But baby believe me, i've done everything i can do
But somehow it's not returnin'

I've been up, down, tryin' to get the feeling again
Like a bloodhound, searching for a long lost friend
Could you help me rediscover
The way to re-be his lover once again

I've read every book, looked for every meditation and poem
Just to bring home that old sweet sensation
But it ain't no use to me to try to get the feeling
I wanna get that feeling again

Could you help me rediscover
The way to re-be his lover once again

I've read every book, looked for every meditation and poem
Just to bring home that old sweet sensation
But it ain't no use to me to try to get the feeling
I wanna get that feeling again.

... transcurre todo...

Entre el espanto y la ternura
transcurre todo
lo inapresable con la moldura,
la mano, el codo.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
crece la hiedra
al sano juicio con la locura,
la flor, la piedra.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
la vida canta
una tonada clara y oscura,
profana y santa.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
corre la suerte
con el abajo y con la altura,
con vida y muerte,
con vida y muerte.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
transcurre todo
lo inapresable con la moldura,
la mano, el codo.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
crece la hiedra,
el sano juicio con la locura,
la flor, la piedra.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
la vida canta
una tonada clara y oscura,
profana y santa.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
corre la suerte
con el abajo y con la altura,
con vida y muerte,
con vida y muerte.

Entre el espanto y la ternura
ahí llega el día,
pasan las verdes y las maduras
ay todavía, ay todavía, ay todavía.

Entre el espanto y la ternura,
a hora temprana,
trabaja el hombre pintando cura
para mañana,
para mañana.

entre el espanto y la ternura...

YA TE LO DECÍA YO

no sé a los demás
a mí me puede el miedo
el miedo a despertar
y seguir teniendo miedo

ya te lo decía yo
no se puede hacer peor
mil maneras de acabar
y elegiste la que más
la que todo destrozó
la que te decía yo
que se quede como quedó
yo tan malo, tú tan bueno
muchas lágrimas no caen al suelo

es para los demás
para mí no es nuevo
haber tratado mal
fallar a los que quiero

ya te lo decía yo
no se puede hacer peor
mil maneras de acabar
y elegiste la que más
la que todo destrozó
la que te decía yo
que se quede como quedó
yo tan malo, tú tan bueno
muchas lágrimas no caen al suelo

Stars shining bright above you;
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you."
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me.

Say nighty-night and kiss me;
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone, blue as can be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

opinando sobre mí

CORRECTO

The Hours by Patricia Barber on Grooveshark

The Hours

While I shower and shave
night is growing old
as I recount my days
you simply count
and coldly mark time

this performance in fact
last, and sweetly in vain
so human, dressed and packed
let me entertain you
one more time

you watch it turn
from dark to dawn
you don't seem
to need much sleep
you're unconcerned
day is breaking like a wave
and the water's much too deep

more faithful still
than God or man
quietly you're
clocking me
ordained to fill
a baneful hourglass
without pause and without grief

if Heaven can wait
talk to Fate
give me just
one more day
as you attend
won't you please
won't you bend
won't you stay
this breach
this gold
to airy thinness beat

you watch it turn
from dark to dawn
eyes and lips and hands
I forsake
you will endure
long after we are gone
and these hearts and this wave
will break

Am I Blue, de Harry Akst y Grant Clarke. Interpretada por Hoagy Carmichael y Lauren Bacal en To have and have not, de Howard Hawks, 1944.

Am I blue
Am I blue
Ain't these tears in my eyes tellin' you
Am I blue
You would be too
If your plans with your man
Done fell through
There was a time
I was the only one
And now I'm the sad and lonely one, lonely, lonely
Was I gay, until today
Now he's gone and we're through
Am I blue

Oh, you know I'm blue
Oh, you make me, make me so blue
Ain't these tears in my eyes tellin' you
Oh, you makin' me so blue
You know, you know, know you do
Now my plans with my man
They done fell through

There was a time
That I was his only one
And now I'm the sad and lonely one, lonely
Was I gay, until today
But now he's gone and we're through
Am I blue
